Cheap and Easy DIY Wreaths!

I have been pretty bored this week. After getting my tooth out on Monday and getting Invisalign I have been a hermit. Literally. I would be suprised if I still had friends after this week. Anyways, I was reading Woman's Day and came across this really cute wreath on the second page. After reading how easy it seemed to make I went off to Michaels and Wal-mart.

The article says it can be made for $5 however, the one time I go to Michaels they did not have the 40% off coupon available for use this week! Figures! So, the foam wreath was $6 :( (still not bad). My next adventure was Wal-mart to find scrap fabric.

It was 8:30 pm and ofcourse nobody wanted to cut fabric at this time. I was there for an hour until I tracked a woman down and practically begggggeeed her to cut a yard of fabric for me. I totally would have done this myself but, you know, I would have gotten in way more trouble and my $5 wreath would have turned into cuffs and $100 fine or something riduculous.

I purchased 4 scrap fabrics. Two of them were on clearance for $1 so I was able to get 2 yards for $2 and the other 2 pieces of scrap fabric were $.30 each! I have plenty of the red and lace fabric left to make a few more wreaths. My cost for this wreath was about $10 but I have a ton of floral wire that I won't have to purchase again and next time I'm going to buy the foam wreath with the 40% coupon . If you have fabric at home already this could be an even cheaper craft to do! This took me an hour to do with all the cutting involved (I hate knives, sharp things in general)but a normal person could probably do this quicker!

I really like how my first fabric wreath turned out! Try it!
